Bird of Courage Roasted Turkey Whiskey

A THANKSGIVING DINNER IN EVERY BOTTLE!

House of Tamworth Bird of Courage™ is a Limited-Edition Roasted Turkey Flavored Whiskey birthed from a barrel of 5-year-old, Bottled-in-Bond Whiskey and steeped with the flavors of a quintessential New England Thanksgiving dinner.

Our distillers utilize ingredients present at the first Thanksgiving 400 years ago, including flint corn and locally sourced chestnuts. Apples and cranberries are sourced from Sugar Hill farm in Maine and kabocha squash from a New Day Farm in Conway, NH. Celery, flint corn, and parsley come from Mountain Heartbeet Veggies in Effingham, NH. Apples and cranberries are foraged from local trees and plants within walking distance of our Tamworth distillery, and fresh sage is plucked from the distillery’s backyard garden.

Each ingredient is distilled fresh from the oven so we can capture the true essence of Thanksgiving. This incredible attention to detail results in a cornucopia of festive fall flavors that truly bring the complex nuances of 5 Year Aged Bourbon aflight. The essence of roasted sweet potato and squash combine with the buttery heart of fresh baked flint cornbread to fortify this whiskey’s deep oaky spirit. A mid-palate of sweet, New England apples and herbs support the ethereal aromas of freshly roasted turkeys sourced from historical Behr Farm in Tamworth, NH.

“For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America… He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage.” –Benjamin Franklin, 1784
